New York Playwright Jermaine Smith’s Comedic/Dramatic/Inspirational family drama A Piece of Me, continues to wow audience's throughout the Tri-State region (and beyond) after 4 years/50 shows. Jermaine graces the cover of Allezom Magazine, is covered in both Exclusivity and Examiner Magazine's, debuted the highly anticipated stage play Cooking in Yesterday's Grease..., and launches EverydayRadio in June.

New York, New York, 05/17/10 – A Piece of Me, the comedic/dramatic/inspirational family drama written and produced by Jermaine “Jay Everyday” Smith, continues to excite audiences throughout the Tri-State region and beyond through its honest exploration of forgiveness, infidelity, abuse and the ways in which individuals lose their way. The play’s message is clear: There’s always a chance for change and redemption. A Piece of Me won the "Best Stageplay Award" on September 2009 at the Holla Back Gospel Music Awards (New Haven, CT), as well as have being nominated for 5 - 2008 Tiffany Gospel Awards (NY). A Piece of Me began its theatrical run on April 8, 2006 at Faith Assemblies of God church in Brooklyn, NY. The drama has touched many lives throughout its forty performances. To date, immediately after seeing the play, 80 audience members have turned over a new spiritual leaf, giving live public testimonies. In June 2008, A Piece of Me became the 1st Black African- American Produced stage play to fill the seats of Bridgeport, Connecticut’s “Playhouse on the Green” (formerly the Polka Dot Theatre) since 2002!

A Piece of Me has been a particular audience favorite in 2008/09, with performances at Harlem, NY'’s Oberia D. Dempsey Center, Brooklyn’s Faith Assemblies of God church, The Plaza Theatre in Orlando, Florida, New Haven, CT's Agape Christian Center, the Lovingher Theatre at Lehman College in the Bronx, the Tony Award Winning Crossroads Theatre in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and the Off-Broadway venue, The Producer's Club, New York, NY.

A Piece of Me is looking to win a good share of its 5 nominations at the 2009 Tiffany Gospel Awards ceremony. The play’s timely message continues to spread to other states. On January 3rd and 4th 2009, the drama was performed at the Shawnee Playhouse in Stroudsburg, PA. This showing made A Piece of Me, the First African –American Produced Stage Play to be performed at The Shawnee Playhouse ever, which was built in 1904.

Since the beginning, A Piece of Me has received minimum but yet favorable press notices and coverage. Jermaine is a regular guest on WHCR (Harlem Community Radio which broadcasts from CCNY), and has been on Brother Bill’s show a half-dozen times in 2007 & 2008. Jermaine also visited Mocha Marie twice at WHCR.  Jermaine is also a regular on Taking Back Our Community; he and the play’s cast were last interviewed and video recorded (Summer 2008) with radio host Connie Johnson on the popular CT-based show on WVOF/Fairfield Univ. (88.5 FM). He is a regular call-in guest with NY’s King Simon on 107.9 FM/ http://www.flavastation.com. Jermaine and several cast members have also appeared on Hartford’s public access show “Simply Savanda” with host Savanda Gasque, and New York’s public access channels BCAT and MNN.

Jermaine has also been a regular on WRTC from CT’s Trinity College with Evangelist Tanya Dailey. On Bridgeport’s WDJZ, he has spoken with various hosts: Bishop Michael Densmore, Bishop Ricardo Griffith and Pastor McClure. He is heard regularly on New Haven’s The New Gospel Exchange on WNHU with Elder Ernest Richard a/k/a Preacher 7.19, and on Krazy Faith Radio out of Hartford, CT, with Bishop Charles McCarter.  Jermaine is also a regular call-in guest on WIHS (104.9 FM/ http://www.wihsradio.org

On October 7th, 2008 he was telephoned interviewed by James Lewis, and on October 17th, he was telephoned interviewed by Andrew Keton – both from Springfield, Massachusetts.On October 20th, he appeared in studio with Darryl Moss’ of Springfield, Mass.’s radio show 90.7 FM. Jermaine also appeared in studio at Tom Joyner’s (94.3 FM/www.943wybc.com) station with host Seesa Harris- Ellison during the month of October in New Haven, CT. WYBC also promoted A Piece of Me through a 60- second radio promotional spot that aired for a month leading up to the October 25th New Haven’s show date. What’s news for this talented playwright? On November 21, 2008 at Brooklyn’s Faith Assemblies of God church, and November 22nd at Harlem’s Oberia D. Dempsey Center, Jermaine debuted his latest drama, two theatrical shorts: I’m Delivered From My Inner Me (Enemy)/Treat Me Not to Leave You. Which was a early holiday treat for all those in attendance. The third showing of Delivered/Treat Me took place at Career HS in New Haven, CT on January 10, 2009. I’m Delivered/Treat Me which was directed by BE Rivers (star of Platanos & Collard Greens) made it’s SOLD OUT return to New York on Saturday, February 7th, and February 19th at the Off- Broadway venue, The Producers’ Club.

Followed by those shows, was the first multi- day run of the production A Piece of Me at The Producers’ Club. Which begin on Friday, February 20, 2009 and closed on Sunday, February 22nd. A Piece of Me was invited and returned (March 7- 8th) to The Shawnee Playhouse in Stroudsberg, Pa. to perform two more shows. Spittin’ Image Ent. closed out March 2009 with two great showings at The Producers’ Club, the first being March 27th , and was followed by a matinee performance on March 28th. April 23rd through the 26th was the latest consecutive show run for A Piece of Me, with all shows being performed at The Producers’ Club. Saturday May 9th marked a stop at the Central Brooklyn Multi-Service Center in Brooklyn, NY, and the Agape Christian Center in New Haven, CT on May 30th. Orlando, Florida’s The Plaza Theatre just welcomed A Piece of Me for two Great performances on Saturday, June 6th.

. The month of July established a first time trip to the state of Massachusetts on July 29th, as the show was held at the Messiah Baptist Church in Brockton, Mass.. The Messiah Baptist Church show was co-produced by the Shekinah Glory Ministries, C.O.G.I.C.. On August 8th, 2009, Spittin’ Image (5.14.97) Ent., Inc. showcased it's 40th showing of A Piece of Me, with a celebration at The Von King Park Amphitheater in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of  Brooklyn, NY. On Monday, October 5th, Jermaine partnered up with Gospel Uptown Restaurant (Harlem) for "A Night of Dinner and Theater". "The event was so successful (SOLD OUT) that twenty minutes into the show, CEO Joseph Holland invited the show back for a return peformance on Monday, November 2nd, 2009. A Piece of Me just the traveled back  to Syracuse on Saturday, November 14th, to perform for a packed out house at Payton Memorial Temple Church. Closing out the 2009 year strong, there was a Brooklyn performance hosted by New York's WLIB 1190 AM's Liz Black on December 12th, at True Worship Ministries, in East New York, Brooklyn. Spittin' Image Entertainment then kicked off 2010 with a Harlem show hosted by Comedian AG White (BET Comic View, P-Diddy's Bad Boys of Comedy, and Martin Lawrence's 1st Amendment) on Friday, January 15th (Harlem, NY), and then headed to Springfield, Mass. (Court Square Arts Center) on Saturday, January 16th.  Jermaine is looking to dominate 2010 with his second full length stage play Cooking in Yesterday's Grease that debuted successfully on Friday February 12th (Brooklyn, NY), and February 13th (Harlem, NY). Cooking last performed on February 27th, and March 6th, 2010 at The Triad Theatre, NYC, NY to rave reviews (See links). On Saturday April 17th Harlem witnessed the 50TH SHOW of A Piece of Me as the production celebrated it's 4 year anniversary. New Britian, CT's "Trinity on Main" venue hosted the CT Debut of "Cooking" on Saturday April 24th. Roy Arias Theater (April 30th) in NYC, and New Jersey's Newark Symphony Hall (June 12th) scheduled next.
